Rheumatoid arthritis
What is Rheumatoid arthritis
It is considered a chronic, inflammatory autoimmune disorder causing the immune system to attack joints. It is disabling and painful condition affecting the whole body including the skin, blood vessels, heart, lungs and muscles.
Symptoms
Joints are swollen and painful, full of fluid, pain may migrate from joint to joint. The on set of the condition may be related to physical or emotional stress or may be due to poor nutrition or a bacterial infection.
How holvita™ colostrum help people with Rheumatoid arthritis
Bovine colostrum contains power immuno-regulator lactoferrin which has power regulating effects on the production of inflammatory cytokines. An over production of cytokines is the cause of many auto-immune conditions such as allergies, asthma, arthritis, lupus and inflammatory bowel disease. Recent study suggests that lactoferrin maybe very helpful to regulate this over production (Zimecki) and subsequently the symptoms.
Another factor found in colostrum to be of great importance is Proline-Rich-Polypeptide (PRP), which is a powerful immune system regulator. It is necessary to prevent the immune system from attacking the body itself. The suppressive action of PRP may help to control the immune system and prevent it from such self-attack. PRPs initiate and suppress the immune action by increasing the permeability of skin vessels, which offers a regulatory activity (Staroscik). Colostrum and its other beneficial factors have the potential to manage and regulate autoimmune/inflammatory response which is believed to be the cause of arthritis.
Dr Thapa states that: "The BC has potential to treat as well to prevent certain diseases in the body. In future this will prove to be a very useful product to treat and control diseases in a natural way.” (Thapa BR)
Our holvita colostrum may help patients suffering with arthritis to relieve joint pain and other symptoms associated with this condition.

Kruzel ML, Actor JK, Boldogh I, Zimecki M; Lactoferrin in health and disease. Lactoferrin, an iron-binding glycoprotein, can be regarded as a cell-secreted mediator that bridges innate and adaptive immune function by regulating target cell response. It is a major pleiotropic mediator that directly assists in the development of T-helper cell polarization. The aim of this mini review is to provide a summary of the most recent work presented at the Lactoferrin Mini symposium at the University of Texas, Health Science Center at Houston, Texas, USA, regarding role of lactoferrin in maintaining immune homeostasis. The data presented here lay emphasis on the significance of lactoferrin in the resolution or progression of the immune responses, thus giving lactoferrin bookend properties in controlling the initial reactions to infectious assault, trauma, and injury.
