Chronic fatigue syndrome

What is chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS)

Chronic fatigue syndrome[CFS] is a complex condition, which is characterised by extreme weakness and exhaustion. Patients with CFS function on substantially lower level of energy and the condition is worsened by mental and physical activity. People with CFS feel tired even after bed rest.

Symptoms of CFS

People with CFS experience various non-specific symptoms, which can include: muscle pain, general weakness, headache, impaired mental concentration, digestive problems, and insomnia, and they are prone to frequent weakness and infections. However, many illnesses have incapacitating fatigue as a symptom and therefore all other possible diseases must first be excluded before a diagnosis of CFS is made.

How holvita™ colostrum can help people with CFS

It is thought that the EBV virus causes the over-reaction of the immune system which results in immunity “burnout” resulting in fatigue. People with EBV require restoration of their immune system.
Colostrum can provide the important boost people with CFS need; one of the main components of colostrum is lactoferrin, which has powerful antiviral properties and can help to restore and regulate the immune system. This may result in increased energy level and general improvement of well-being.

Colostrum contains a large family of growth factors which help with regeneration of all body's cells. In particular the Insulin-like growth factor - I (IgF-I), IgF-I helps to improve metabolism of glucose to glycogen which results in increased energy levels. Dr. Zoltan Rona, The American Journal of Natural Medicine, March 1998.  "As mentioned earlier, because of chronic fatigue's uncertain and various casual factors, a substance such as colostrum, which may contain literally dozens of disease-specific agents, could be the most effective in treatments for the syndrome."
