Fungal infections
What is fungus?
Fungi are single-celled organisms, which can be found in the air, water and soil. Examples of fungi are mushrooms, mould and yeasts.. Fungi are live worldwide and most of them are invisible to the naked eye. They are useful in all ecosystems helping to decompose the different materials and in the cycle of nutrients.
Good and Bad fungi?
There are a many types of fungal species which reused in the production of food, such as wine, beer and soya sauce. Fungi have been used quite recently in the development of antibiotics and various enzymes, which are important for industrial use; some of them are the active ingredients in detergents.
The effect of fungi on human health
Fungi can produce bio-active compounds, which are toxic to humans and animals, called mycotoxins.
Many species of fungi are pathogens and can cause significant damage to crops, food and human health. They are normal inhabitants of the skin, digestive system and genitourinary tract and start to be a problem only when they get out of balance.
Candida lives in around 80% of the human population with no harmful effects. Candidiasis is often observed in immunocompromised individuals such as HIV-positive patients when the immune system cannot keep the balace and Candida overgrows. Candidiasis also may occur in the blood and in the genital tract. Candidiasis, also known as "thrush", is a common condition which is usually easily cured in people who are not immunocompromised.
One of the most common fungal infections is Candida.
How holvita™ colostrum can help against fungal infections
The components in colostrum can help to restore the balance of intestinal flora and support the immune system in the fight with the diseases caused by fungi. Colostrum contains many immune factors thatstrenghten the immune system and therefore provide the body with the ability to fight back against such microorganism. What colostrum does is, to provide anti-fungal protection, creating unfavorable conditions for the growth of numerous harmful microorganisms such as yeast (fungal) infections.
