holvita™ Colostrum anti-ageing and skin regeneration
Colostrum can help against the signs of ageing
Colostrum can help reduce the signs of ageing Colostrum is a unique, natural multifunctional product. It contains a complex of cell and repair growth factors which are important for cell growth stimulation. Growth factors in colostrum stimulate cell growth in the dermal layer of the skin improving skin thickness and elasticity.
“In this way wrinkles are reduced and the skin takes on a soft texture” (The Editors of the Doctors' Prescription for Healthy Living Magazine p32)
Growth factors that play an important part in maintaining the life of the skin cells are :
Growth Hormone GH This growth hormone is present in colostrum and is the single most abundant hormone produced by the body. GH levels are highest during teenage years and gradually fall with age. It increases the metabolic rate, reduces fat and increases muscle mass. It is involved in the regeneration of heart, lung, and liver tissue as well as many other organs and tissues through out the body. GH stimulates protein synthesis, which is essential for the renewal of skin and bone.
Insulin-like growth factor-I & II (IgF-I & II) belong to a whole family of growth factors found in colostrum which are called the “Growth Factor superfamily.” IgF-1 is considered to be the most important growth factor, its function is to activate cell growth, protein synthesis and the release of energy. “Because it is the primary factor in the ability of cells to grow and reproduce, it is highly desirable for its many anti-aging and regenerative effects” (The Colostrum Miracle: the anti aging super food)
Epithelial growth factor (EgF) is important for the regulation of cell growth, proliferation, and differentiation.
Other growth factors in colostrum which help the regeneration of the skin, are:
Transforming growth factors A & B (TgF A&B)
Fibroblast growth factor (FgF)
Platelet derived growth factor (PDgF)
Colostrum's powerful detoxifying effect helps to keep skin looking nourished and healthy.
Colostrum in oral use
To improve our appearance we generally look towards an external/topical use of anti-ageing products. What we tend forget is that our body has the ability to regenerate from within. An unbalanced diet or bad nutritional uptake can be corrected by supplementing with colostrum orally, and which would support and activate not only a healthy intestinal flora, but would also provide the body with a wealth of growth factors which detoxify and help to regenerate the cells throughout the body.
The editors of The Doctors Prescription for Healthy Living Magazine state: “Colostrum is nature's super food and could well prove to be a indispensable to optimal health as our daily multiple vitamin and mineral supplement”
Colostrum in topical use
Colostrum has powerful anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-fungal effects, which greatly support skin hygiene. It also contains a wealth of growth factors that are of direct benefit to the skins cells. These growth factors, in particular the IgF 1 & 2 growth factors, have been shown to be hugely supportive in the regeneration of tired skin, depleted of nutrients and collagen. Not only can these growth factors replenish what has been depleted over the years, they also re-stimulate the glands of the skin helping it to recover an appearance that is generally only associated with a younger age.
Our holvita™ colostrum creams are rich in growth factors and nutrients that help to keep skin looking revitalised and healthy. For best effects, a combination of holvita™ liquid and our holvita™ colostrum based creams is recommended.
Research done by Sporn in 1983 found that “Growth factors in bovine colostrum were found to be very effective in promoting wound healing. Implications for trauma, and surgical healing. External and internal applications implied.” (REF)
Colostrum's immune factors make it highly suitable for topical use in the treatment of the skin and wounds. Colostrum has anti-viral and anti-bacterial, as well as anti-inflammatory properties which make it suitable oral and/or topical applications. Our holvita™ Dermatological cream in combination with our holvita™ Liquid extract, can provide an effective way to treat and speed up the healing process.References:
